Caprese Salad

  • 4 large fresh tomatoes
  • 1 log of fresh mozzarella
  • About 10 large, fresh basil leaves
  1. Cut the tomatoes into generous slices (about ¼ to ½ inch thick)
  2. Cut the Mozzarella into slices that are the same thickness as the tomato slices
  3. Take the basil leaves and stack them on top of each other and roll them into a cigar. Cut the basil into small, thin slices (so it looks like confetti when you’re done)
  4. Place three tomato slices on a plate and top the tomatoes with a slice of mozzarella. Sprinkle with the shredded, fresh basil. Drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar or a combination of both.
