Crockpot Turkey Legs

Note: I remove the skin after the legs have fully cooked to save calories. You don’t lose any flavor since the slow cooking process lets the meat absorb the oil and herbs.

Recipe type: Entrees
Serves: Serves 3 to 4 (one leg per person)
Ingredients
  • 3 to 4 turkey legs (skin on)
  • 3 teaspoons fresh thyme
  • 3 teaspoons fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
  1. Mix the herbs in a small bowl or grind them in a food processor.
  2. If you mixed the herbs in a bowl, rub the turkey legs lightly with the olive oil then sprinkle the herbs on the legs.
  3. If you ground the herbs in a food processor, add the olive oil and make the mixture into a paste. Then rub the legs with the mixture.(This is how I did it. I prefer the herbs chopped and combined with the oil.)
  4. Place the turkey legs in the crockpot in a single layer on the bottom so they fit flat. Do this by alternating the direction of the legs.
  5. Cook on low for 8 hours.
